Version of 20/10/2026. Here we explain, in plain words, what data is needed to use the students area of antoniomorlino.com and what we do with it.
Who processes the data
The student area is run by Antonio Morlino, teacher and developer, who is also the data controller. For any question about privacy you can write to dev@antoniomorlino.com.
If you are under 18
The area is designed for secondary school students, so also for boys and girls who are minors. That is why we ask for the minimum: just the email. No name, no photo, no profile, no other data. If you are under 14, read this notice together with a parent before activating your access.
What you find in the area
- Material: the lesson files (handouts, exercises, presentations) sorted by subject, ready to download.
- Learn by playing: the games to learn by playing, such as Chef Mutex. Every game opens with the same login, without asking you for further data.
What data we use
- Your email, the one you use to request access.
- The password you choose. We store it only in encrypted form (hash): no one can read it, not even us. It is never sent by email.
- Some dates: when you requested access, when you activated it and accepted this notice, your last access; and the status of your address (pending, enabled, refused, revoked).
- Technical data for security: to block anyone trying to guess passwords or sending too many requests, we record the IP address and the email of failed attempts and of requests, and we delete them after 24 hours. The hosting server also logs, as any site does, the requests it receives (IP address, date and time, page).
We do not record which materials you download or how much you play. The code you write in the games does not reach us: the games run in your browser, which remembers your levels and preferences on your device (localStorage). You can delete them from your browser settings.
Why
To let you use the area you asked for: send you the activation link and know who can get in (art. 6.1.b GDPR). To protect the service from abuse (legitimate interest, art. 6.1.f). We don't use your email for anything else: no advertising, no newsletters, no statistics, no profiling. We don't sell it and we don't give it to anyone for their own purposes.
The cookie
When you log in, the browser saves a technical cookie, am_student, which keeps you signed in while you use the area and the games. It expires when you close the browser or press «Log out», and after 12 hours without using it we ask for your password again. Being necessary for the service, it doesn't require consent. We don't use statistics tools on the pages of the area.
Who else sees the data
- Netsons S.r.l. (Italy), which hosts the site and the database.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers the area's emails on our behalf.
- Cloudflare, Inc., if the anti-robot check (Turnstile) appears in the «Request access» form: Cloudflare receives the technical browser data needed for the check. Cloudflare is based in the United States; the transfer takes place under the safeguards provided by the GDPR.
Netsons, Brevo and Cloudflare process the data only to provide their service. Addresses that do not belong to the school are seen by Antonio Morlino, who decides whether to approve the request.
For how long
- As long as your access is active; if you don't sign in for 24 months, the address is deleted.
- An unused activation link is valid for 7 days; if access is never activated, the address is deleted 90 days after the last link.
- Requests left pending are deleted after 90 days.
- Rejected or revoked addresses are kept for 12 months, only to prevent them from being re-enabled by mistake, then they are deleted.
If you want us to delete your email sooner, just ask.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or object, by writing to dev@antoniomorlino.com or from the Personal data management page of the site. If you think your data is being handled badly, you can file a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it). The privacy of the rest of the site is in the Privacy Policy.
